Alexander von Furstenberg fosters philanthropic commitment

Guided by the shared values of the Diller and von Furstenberg families, Alex von Furstenberg upholds the Diller–von Furstenberg Family Foundation’s commitment to community welfare. Working on the philosophy focused on social responsibility, Alex actively spearheads the foundation’s efforts to create better opportunities for the underprivileged sectors of society.

The Diller–von Furstenberg Family Foundation is a private family foundation that provides philanthropic support to various 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations. Founded in 1999, the Foundation has become a major supporter of various civic-oriented projects initiated by some of the most respectable cause-oriented groups in the country. Throughout the years, it has contributed millions worth of donation to different programs that promote education, community reform, environmental advocacy, disease research, child care, arts and humanities, and human rights.

Alex von Furstenberg, a top executive of some of the biggest and most successful investment firms in the United States, has been known for his various philanthropic endeavors. His commitment to charity works has been further fostered by his role as the director and secretary of The Diller–von Furstenberg Family Foundation. Over the years, he has been instrumental in some of the biggest financial gifts offered to various high-profile projects in the country. These include the $3 million donation for the new off-Broadway home of Signature Theater Company and the $20 million endowment to the High Line public park rehabilitation project in New York.


With the support of his family, Alex untiringly continues his mission to make The Diller–von Furstenberg Family Foundation a key benefactor of more projects that help empower people and strengthen the communities.
