Alex von Furstenberg partners with Beverly Hills cops

Business tycoon Alex von Furstenberg’s philanthropic ideals go beyond putting roofs over the heads of the homeless or providing education to the youth. Mr. von Furstenberg also supports men and women who have played important roles in society like the active and retired Beverly Hills officers of the Beverly Hills Police Officers Association (BHPOA).

The BHPOA was lucky to be a beneficiary of a $25,000-pledge from Mr. von Furstenberg for the association’s 22nd Annual Black & White Ball which was held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in November 2010. The proceeds from the event would benefit the BHPOA’s Medical Trust Fund, supporting ongoing benefits for both active personnel and retired officers and their families.

“These officers have dedicated their lives to improving and protecting our community and are deserving of our continued support,” said Alex von Furstenberg.

About the BHPOA

In 1975, The Beverly Hills Police Officers Association was incorporated to provide members with supplemental insurances, legal aid, and college tuition support for their children. The BHPOA also represents sergeants and police officers on labor concerns and negotiations. Additionally, the association donates to local charities, like the Beverly Hills Education Foundation and The Maple Counseling Center, and awards a scholarship each year to a Beverly Hills High School graduating senior.
